One creature will be the only surviving Armageddon- He is indestructible
Although the convergence of the supernova or the large impact of asteroids would be catastrophic for humans,One animal would remain on the face of the Earth. Water Bear
Scientists have agreed on what kind of species will survive as the last form of life on Earth until the Sun is extinguished.
After the human race has been eradicated from our planet, a water-bear, a small eight footed animal, will continue to live, researchers concluded.
Despite a series of cataclysmic events that could lead our species to the end-like a major asteroid or explosion of a close star-no one would be serious enough to completely eradicate life on Earth.
A water-bear is considered the last survivor on our planet.
Extremely durable and completely sympathetic animal, which grows up to a maximum length of half a millimeter, and is steamed under frozen vacuum conditions, can live up to 30 years without food and water, maintaining temperatures up to 150 degrees.
One of the researchers, Dr David Sloun of Oxford University, said most of the previous papers focused on scenarios “Destinies” of life on Earth – astrophysical events like the explosions of star giants that could erase the human race.
“Instead, our study dealt with the most durable species – water-bear,how exactly are we entering the phase of astronomy where we saw exoplanets and we hope that we will soon do Spectroscopy and find evidence of some other forms of life,we should try to explore how fragile this life is.
“To our surprise, we discovered that although the vicinity of the supernova or the impact of large asteroids is catastrophic for humans, water bears could remain Intact.
“It seems that life, when it appears somewhere, is difficult to completely destroy. An enormous number of species, and even the entire genus, may disappear, but life as a whole will continue. ”
His colleague from Oxford, Dr. Rafael Alves Batista, compared the durability of a water-bear with the relatively fragile characteristics of a man.
“Without a technology that protects us, people are a very sensitive species,” he said.
“Minimal changes in our environment dramatically affect us. There are many tougher species on Earth.Life on this planet can be continued long after people disappear. ”
The existence of a water-bear also gives hope in search of alien life, said Dr. Alves Batista.
“Water bears are virtually indestructible if we consider their characteristics, but it is possible that there are other resistant species all over the universe,” he said.
“In this context, there is a real reason for looking for life on Mars and other areas of the Solar System in general. If water bears are the tougher species on Earth, who knows what else is there. ”
The study, described in the journal Scientific reports, discusses three possible cataclysmic events: asteroid stroke, supernovae, and gamma ray explosions.
Only a dozen objects, including Pluto, are large enough in case of impact caused the earth’s oceans to swell, but none of their paths should be crossed with our orbit.
The researchers concluded that the chance that the supernova, the exploding star, would be large enough to exterminate all life, including our Sun, is negligible.
The impact of gamma rays, which are brighter than the Supernova, could pose an existential threat to the entire life on Earth, only if they were located at a distance of less than 40 light-years.
This risk is again minimum considered
